Alden Jardine has been announced as the third committed athlete to the 2020/ 21 men's volleyball roster. Alden signs as an Eagle after spending his high school years competing as a Tartan at Campbell Collegiate in Regina, Saskatchewan. Along with volleyball, he played baseball at the provincial level, representing Team Saskatchewan 2015 through 2018. Here Alden collected many accolades, including a championship medal at the Canada Cup in Richmond, BC. Alden is a former player and coach at Regina Volleyball Club.
When asked what he is most excited for entering the program, he commented that he is "excited to be a part of another high performance program after hearing good things about it". Although Alden has worked with head coach Patrick Winand before, he is "excited to meet new people, make friends" and enjoy the inclusive class-sizes. Headed into the ACAC for his first year, his goals are to make a positive contribution to the team and grow as a player for years to come.
"We welcome Alden with open arms into our volleyball family and I'm confident that his aggression and strength at the net is going to contribute greatly to our success next season," said coach Winand. "Alden is a determined competitor, personable and manifests key character traits that we look for in all of our eagles".
Alden will be entering the Bachelor of Arts program this fall, majoring in music with a minor in psychology. Welcome to the team, Alden!
