The Eagles men's soccer program is excited to announce the signing of both Steve Bustamante Garcia and Noah Bilodeau, graduates of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School Rams program in West Edmonton.
Bustamante, who is entering into his first year in the Kinesiology stream of the Social Sciences Program, is a quick pace forward/midfield on the field, and he plays with passion, while Bilodeau, another Kinesiology student, is a level headed midfield who handles the ball well, finds spaces between the opponent's players, and has a strong final ball. Both players though have a knack for scoring.
"I have known Steve for some time now and was lucky enough to help coach a club team he was one. I liked his drive and passion and wanted to keep my eye on him as he grew up from junior high. Steve took some great strides and put himself in a position for a role on several men's league teams while he was still young. He was excelling at the men's level while still a youth—I was very happy to see his growth. It got to the point where we couldn't keep him from training with us, as he felt very welcomed. We are excited to work with Steve, and continue to help him grow as a man and as a player!" (Coach Van Driel on Steve Bustamante)
"Noah attended one of our ID Camps in the spring when he was young and similar to his fellow signee, he had some fantastic baseline abilities. He put the work in, and his work ethic and attitude earned him a spot on one of the best clubs in Alberta at the AMSL level. He has continued to work with hard-working players around him who know the game well, and Noah came back to training with King's blazing. We couldn't keep our eyes off of him during the sessions. He was vital in much of the possession for his team, and let go some fantastic goals. Noah is a player with a drive to improve and play at the next level, and we are excited to help him get there for the future! (Coach Van Driel on Noah Bilodeau)
