Todd Van Driel Post-Game vs. Keyano

Todd Van Driel Post-Game vs. Keyano

A lot of injuries occurred this past weekend. How are the players doing post-games?
The guys are taking the appropriate steps in both checking their injuries and making sure they know what needs to be done to heal, and potential ETA's of when they can play again. It was a tough weekend of games for our small roster, so we are dealing with the injuries case by case.

You were out two starters in the game on Friday, and by the end of the game you were out five starters. How did this effect Saturday's game?
With such a small roster, some of the other guys, who are just easing their way into the ACAC level of play, were asked to not only play their first or second games, they were asked to do so against the best team in the league. This large amount of injuries also meant that many of the guys were asked to play in positions they are not naturally used to playing, while in other cases, they were needed to play with some "less severe" injuries. Those above guys played their hearts out and stepped up and left it all out on the field.

Volkan Yasa got player of the game both days. What did he do to achieve this?
His versatility and flexibility took him there. He played every position this weekend, and succeeded to some degree in every position in which he was place. Started as a striker, then forward, then midfield, then all the way as a defender in the middle. He talked well and thwarted many of the creative attacks that Keyano pushed forward. That being said, so many of the guys had fantastic weekends to the point that we literally had to flip a coin between several guys. To have multiple guys who played their best games yet is a great situation to be in, but makes the decision much harder!
